Roman Datsko Vasylyovych was born in the marvelous Lviv region, where since ancient times the carving has been flowering. Love of painting was noticed in his early childhood. Trying to carry out himself, he entered the school of art for children, which he graduated from with a prize. Feeling limited sphere of work, he started to work with sculpture. Firstly, he worked with plasticine, and soon, at the age of 14, he started to deal with carvings on the wood.

While being a student of the Brody Pedagogical College was working on the plain and relief carvings. While being a student of Ternopil National Pedagogical University of the institute of art, he continues to work on relief carvings and sculpture.

On his mind: “The ART is to enrich the spiritual world of a modern person”. That is why the biggest part of his works is dedicated to religion themes. He often took part in regional and All-Ukrainian exhibitions, where he was recognized as a laureate in the fine art.

For a long time he cooperates with nation master of Ukraine Victor Lyupiychyk, and in 2009 Roman Datsko received the title nation master. In the same year 2009 entry into master's Lviv National Academy of Arts, the Faculty of Art wood. The ongoing work focusing on the plastic carving.
